As you all know pretty much every geek related event has been cancelled because of the Cover-19 Pandemic, it's because of this that event organizers as well as publishers have decided to use alternative routes to push the medium out of the darkness of this deadly virus that's taken over the entire World; much like the superheroes we read about and watch on film and television. One such event is the 12 Hour Comics Day Challenge, a Worldwide art challenge try to illustrate an entire short story from beginning to end in 12 hours or less; that means 12 pages written, pencilled, inked; coloring is optional.
Normally the event consists of two or more creators gathering at a specific location and creating a 12 comic book from scratch, the problem is that we're living under the shroud of a Global Pandemic so the format had to change a bit. This year the challenge will be online with live streams, hourly updates, videos, pics, podcasters, artists and fans from around the World joining forces through the magic of art and comic books to create 12 pages in 12 hours! I also thought of another way us indie creators can use the 12 Hour Comics Day Challenge to our advantage; now hear me out. What if we took used the 12 consecutive hours we have to dedicate to the challenge to work on our books instead? How much could we benefit from 12 straight hours of non-stop work on our books? We could either write, pencil, ink, color pages OR we could do 12 pages from pencils to coloring on a brand new story; it's up to the us the creators to use this challenge to our benefit and have fun with it!
Anyone can join in the fun, all you need to do is draw to the best of your abilities and have fun with it; just make sure you tag everything with these hashtags: #12hourcomicsday #12hourcomicsday2020 #12hourcomicsdayonline #12hrcomicsday #12hourcomicday #12hrcomicday #12hourcomicday2020 so it's easier for everyone to find them.
Note: Participants can use any medium they desire and the story can be four (4) pages or more, just as long as it's a finish story. We hope you join us. Let's have some fun making comics!
If you don't draw but would still like to be a part of this event you can absolutely do so, in fact we encourage you to join in the fun!Like the pics, comment on artists' posts, share pics, share videos, share the event, start the conversation with your friends and enjoy the show; we're going to be putting in some serious work for 12 straight hours so having some encouraging words to motivate and push us is crucial for us to stay on target and is always appreciated!
As always... keep it Truthful!
