A few days ago I got my pull list and as I usually do after getting my books, I browsed the shelves for new indie titles I've never read before. Sometimes I find a book that'll catch my eye, this was one of those times. The series was Delta Dogs published by Millennial Comics.
The story is about a young group of brothers and cousins who just happened to be at the wrong place, at the wrong time. As they're driving around a glowing green and zombiesque "man" walks towards them and before they know it explodes in a flash of light that consumes them. When they wake up, each one of them has a different ability that they now have to live with and eventually get the handle of before they hurt themselves or anyone else.
The first thing I noticed was the quality. Great printing, full size, full-color and 22+ pages of superhero goodness. The artwork was really good and the writing was ok although I felt lost at times, maybe not lost but it felt like there could've been more panels to better explained what was happening; but it was't too distracting. I bought the first three issues because those were the only ones available at my LCS, but I'll be picking the subsequent issues as they come out for sure; I recommend you do as well. -MC
