First I have to finish inking issue #2 of Project: New Wave I'll be lettering issue #1. That's not that bad you say? Ok, how about lettering issue inking issue #2 of Project: New Wave while inking issue #3. Meh? How about starting colors on issue #3 as well? As if this wasn't enough I'll begin work on Thor: New Beginnings and we'll be recording at least two episodes of the Truthful Comics Podcast! I'll be doing this on top of having my youngest boy and my wife's birthday on October as well! Sigh... BRING IT!!!
Date: Saturday, October 3rd - Sunday, October 4th
What it means: This is an important day for comic book creators as attempt to complete a comic book from scratch, start to finish; in 24 hours or less. I'll be doing the event from home and interacting with the Truthful Comics colleagues that might want to join me in the insanity. We'll be updating the Facebook page in hourly updates and hopefully we can finish the book. Not everyone that's been invited is an artist and/or is required to participate in any way other than show your support. If you're not an artist but you like the iniciative, spread the word, tell everyone what it's about and tell the to stop by the event page to see the progress pics and videos that are going to be uploaded throughout the day.
Date: October 1st - October 31st
What it means: INKtober was created by artist Jake Parker as a challenge to improve inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. Anyone can do INKtober, just pick up a pen and start drawing.
1) Make a drawing in ink (you can do a pencil under-drawing if you want).
2) Post it on tumblr (or Instagram, twitter, facebook, flickr, Pinterest or just pin it on your wall.)
3) Hashtag it with #inktober
4) Repeat (you can do it daily, like me, or go the half-marathon route and post every other day, or just do the 5K and post once a week. What ever you decide, just be consistent with it. INKtober is about growing and improving and forming positive habits, so the more you’re consistent the better.)
